DISC Dementia Guides

DISC are delighted to announce our new DISC Dementia Guides project.

The aim of DISC Dementia Guides is to empower our communities to become more Dementia aware and supportive of people living with Dementia and the people who support them. We are actively looking for volunteers to join us to help deliver Dementia Guide Sessions in their communities. Each Dementia Guide Session will take two hours to deliver but, we will also be developing sessions that can be delivered in approximately one hour to allow for time constraints some attendees may struggle with. If you would like to be one of our Dementia Guides, we will provide you with all of the training and support you need to deliver sessions, including on-going support and advice and help as you need it. If you are interested please let us know and we can arrange a catch up with you either face to face or via Zoom.

Who can be a DISC Dementia Guide?

Anyone!
We welcome care professionals, community champions, Councillors, volunteers, social workers or if you find you have a few hours spare each month and want to share dementia information and awareness within your local community- get in touch!
